What happened next was a long journey and you meet me where I am today.
And my journey isn't over, for no one's story is ever fully-written.
You learn a lot about yourself when you are thoroughly de-resourced. Leaving friends/family behind, I moved across the continent for a new job, my spouse of 7 years left shortly thereafter, I got into a precarious living situation, I left my non-profit leadership position that I had relocated for as I worked myself out of the position, and then I lost my precarious living situation. Unbeknownst to me at the time, much of my time in Washington state thus far meets the legal definition of being homeless.
All of this difficulty has been part of the foundation to where I'm at today: grounded, with a sense of purpose and better understanding for what matters most to me. Resiliency is a strange and not entirely known characteristic of the human condition.
I am fully supportive of a holistic approach to an individual's wellness, health, and fitness journey. I strive to be able to hold space for the whole human and help them achieve their own sustainable goals. It's less about where the person is at right now and more about how to help get them to where they want to go.
