I value communication (with context & clarity) and curiosity. For me, it is these 2 personal core values build connection with others and foster collaboration. I find that if I am not living into these values, it is a testament to me that something is out of balance. This is usually within my internal world and is often reflected through my body. If I am ignoring myself, I cannot honor myself and those around me.
Each of us is a collection of stories leading us to where we are currently. I bring a wellspring of backgrounds, education, and certifications to everything I do. I leverage my expertise in communications, teaching, athletic coaching, and personal high performance athletic training. I do this through holding space for your journey, asking poignant thoughtful questions, and supporting you through accountability, activity/fitness plans, and reflective safe containers for vulnerability.
I hope to be able to share in your story and help you get to where you want to be through healing, reflection, and somatic awareness.
Carina is a constellation in the southern sky. "Carina" derives from Latin for the keel of a ship, the part of the vessel that can be weighty, but also helps keep things righted and balanced as the ship travels through the water. Rowing has been a large part of my own personal journey, both in the athletic space and also the mental/emotional spaces as well. Finding our own individual rhythms of what works for us to balance our own lives is an important facet to achieving our own goals.
The Carina constellation also contains the Canopus star, which is named after a navigator for an ancient Spartan king. This constellation resonates with me as stars shine through even when surrounded by darkness. During times of struggle, it may be difficult to see what we're each doing right and what is going well. We may need help getting back to where we can see our own shine more. I hope to be a navigator to clients looking for this balance.
So, the TL;DR is that I hope to help my clients shine through finding their own balance.
